US sea-based drones to be deployed in the Pacific

It's likely that US sea-based drones will be deployed in the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. That's according to Commander of the US 7th Fleet, Scott Van Buskirk.

The X-47B is capable of striking targets quickly. The unmanned armed planes can increase the range and persistence of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.

The Carrier-based, tail-less aircraft are expected to play an integral role in future US operations in Asia. The first flight of the model was in early February.

4G network is another step closer to reality

BEIJING - China Mobile Communications Co said on Monday that the country's top telecom regulator has approved five telecommunication equipment makers to begin construction of the fourth-generation (4G) network. China Mobile, the world's largest telecom carrier by subscriber numbers, obtained approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in December to conduct a commercial trial of the homegrown 4G network TD-LTE (Time Division-Long Term Evolution) in seven major Chinese cities. TD-LTE equipment providers have also been given the green light to provide equipment for the trial. Chinese couple murdered in Cairo

A young Chinese couple were murdered on Monday night in a rental house in the Nasr City in Cairo, a Chinese embassy official said today. The murder occurred at around 10 pm on Monday, Zhang Zhizhong, director of the consular affairs of the Chinese embassy to Egypt, told Xinhua. The couple, from eastern China's Zhejiang Province, had been dealing with marble business in Egypt for several years.
