Political advisors to meet for economic adjustment

BEIJING - China's senior political advisors will meet next month to provide advice on the country's economic structure adjustment, according to a statement issued Friday.

They will also discuss policies and measures to promote long-term, steady and rapid development of the country's economy.

The Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will hold a session in late June, said a statement issued after Friday's presidium meeting of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.

The presidium meeting examined and approved a draft agenda for the upcoming session, as well as a draft on personnel issues.

These drafts will be submitted to the session in June for the political advisors' review and approval, the statement said.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

Jia called on the political advisors to carry out careful research and inspections into the draft issues in order to give more insightful advice.
