S. China province sees growth in gun-related crime
Police in south China's Guangdong province said on Tuesday that they cracked more than 130,000 criminal cases during the first 10 months of the year, with the number of gun-related cases surging by more than 30 percent year-on-year.
According to information released by the Guangdong Public Security Department, a total of 132,000 criminal cases were solved during the period, up by 1.8 percent year-on-year.
The number of gun-related cases grew by 31.9 percent, with 1,909 suspects in gun-related crimes arrested during the period.
Specifically, police investigated 413 abduction cases during the period, locating 554 missing children.
