China is set to amend its Civil Procedure Law to allow the inclusion of electronic evidence in court cases, the Shanghai Evening Post reported.

The new legislation would likely allow the introduction of electronic evidence, such as e-mail correspondence, IM chat logs and online transactions, none of which are admissible under current legislation.

But Weibo, or microblog logs are likely to remain inadmissible in court, according to lawyers.
