China's unemployment rate has held steady since the end of the first quarter, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

China's registered urban unemployment rate was 4.1 percent at the end of June, with 9 million people registered as unemployed.

The Ministry spokesman says the country has created more than 6 million job opportunities in the first half of this year and has helped nearly 3 million laid-off workers find re-employment.

The Ministry says the country will put more efforts into boosting employment by introducing favorable tax policies and providing financial support. The government aims to create more than 9 million jobs this year.
