Shen Yun: A Wonderful Ticket from Bloomingdale's

Helen Shaub who attended the performance with her son-in-law, Francisco Brugueras. (The Epoch Times) NEW YORKShen Yun Performing Arts opened to an enthusiastic crowd at David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center, Thursday night.

The New York-based Shen Yun performed a selection of the best pieces of its repertoireshowcasing another journey of 5,000 years of Chinese traditional culture.

Its beautiful, its absolutely beautiful. I am very happy to be here, said Ms. Helen Shaub, who attended the performance with her son-in-law, Francisco Brugueras, a Vice President at the investment bank, Goldman Sachs.

Ms. Shaub said she learned about Shen Yun from a magazine, and then saw the tickets for sale while shopping at Bloomingdale's.

This is wonderful. This is wonderful, said Ms. Shaub after seeing the show.

I sink into the quality of the dancing and its arrangements, she said.

Soprano Haolan Gengs vocals and erhu virtuoso Xiaochun Qis musical performance of Can You Recall, received an enthusiastic audience response, as did the Plum Blossom dance, which featured bright pink ruffled fans and Nymphs of the Sea, which featured flowing silk streaming across a backdrop of blue ocean.

Shen Yun is the worlds premier Chinese classical dance and music company.

Shen Yun counts many winners of international dance and vocal competitions among its artists, and its orchestras include many musicians from world-renowned symphonies and conservatories.

Gang murders man then sues for compensation

A severe cold snap swept through South China and froze over sections of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Freeway in Guangdong province starting Dec 15, bringing traffic to a standstill and stranding over 8,000, chinanews.com reported Friday.
