China calls for cease-fire, political solution to Libya crisis

China is calling for a cease-fire and a political solution to the ongoing crisis in Libya. It comes as the Executive Chairman of the Libyan National Transitional Council, Mahmoud Jibril, arrives in China for talks with Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
Jibril chairs the NTC's executive board, an umbrella organization for rebel groups trying to unseat Libya's longtime leader, Muammar Gaddafi. It's the first time a member of the NTC has come to China since the outbreak of the crisis in February.
The NTC has called for an increase in the scale of NATO led airstrikes against Muammar Gaddafi, and for more foreign aid, while China has consistently maintained it's stance that only dialogue can solve the conflict.
