15 year old son of Chinese general drives BMW and assaults a couple violently

A couple was hit violently by the son of a Chinese Army general and famous tenor Li Shuangjiang () in a dispute near a residential area of Haidian District, Beijing on 6th September. This incident gained huge attention from the public in China. General Li Shuangjiangs son, the name of which was kept because of his young age will be put in detention for one year according to the Beijing police.
Dont you dare call 110!
We were driving in front of them while we were entering the gate of our residential area at 9 oclock that night. We slowed down and heard their honking. When my husband and I got off the car, they came up and hit us. Yang, the injured female recalled. According to the witness, the 15-year-old Lis son was in his customized BWM and his 18-year-old friend Su was in his Audi. They are young and tall, hitting the couple together for about 3 minutes without any explanation, despite that the couples 5-year-old daughter was crying in the car. The couple was unable to fight back. Dont you dare call 110! the younger Li, who does not have a drivers license, warned the onlookers.
They wanted to leave after the assault, but we didnt want to just watch them escape. There were about 40 residents on the spot, surrounding them and! calling the police one resident said. Li and Su attempted to drive away, but found the way blocked by the bystanders cars. Su even said to a car owner I will give you 2000 yuan if you get out of the way. Finally they ran without the cars. The police captured them on the grass near the gate.
The couple got head injuries. Mr. Peng had 9 stitches in his forehead and 3 in the back of the head. The nose and right eye were both wounded.
Father apologizes for sons attack
Li Shuangjiang, the 72-year-old Chinese Army general and dean of the music department of the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) Academy of Arts, went to visit the couple in the hospital in Haidian district. "Its my fault failing to educate my son to behave well" he said. He also promised that his son will be punished by law and he will compensate the couple. The victim Mr. Peng accepted Lis apology and said that it was not the fault of the father. "Your son is less than 15 years old, and every person might do wrong when young," said Pengs wife considerately "When we were young, we also did something wrong."
Li Shuangjiang was accompanied by policemen when he went to the hospital, that also aroused headed discuessions on the internet. Someone said it was kind of showing off or threat. But Li explained that its normal to have some body guards and secretaries because of my ranking. I sent them to protect the victims in case of being disturbing by the journalists.
Public were less forgiving
Now younger Li will be put in detention for one year. And Su will be arrested as soon as the police get the approval from the Peoples Procuratorate. Su Wenbin, father of the attacker Su was detained by the police because it was found that the license plate on the Audi driven by Su was registered t! o anothe r car owned by National Tax Bureau of Shanxi province. Su Wenbin was suspected of using the fake license plate.
But the public is not so easy to forgive. They questioned that why younger Li can drive without a drivers license. Moreover, the BMW was found to have been violating traffic regulations for 32 times. And someone even suspects Su is the son of the chief of Taiyuan police station. The furor from the public toward the Official 2nd Generation engulfs the attackers.
The incident reminds the public of a previous case of Li Qiming, the son of Li Gang, deputy director of the public security bureau of Beishi district of Baoding city, Hebei province. Li Qiming struck two students with his car in 2010 while driving drunk, one of which was killed. He shouted "My father is Li Gang when the crowd stopped him. And My dad is Ligang became the pet phrase of many netizens, showing their mockery to the 2nd Official Generation and 2nd Generation Rich.
