The "Yang" Chinese character firework displayed during a shutting rite of Guangzhou Asian Games was identified as a largest simulated Chinese-character firework in a world by Guinness World Records, Southern Metropolis Daily reports.

The "Yang" firework was 519 meters tall and 341 meters wide, or 174,000 block meters larger than 24 football fields. "Yang," meaning "goat," comes from Guangzhou's nickname, Yang City.
